Asada Cantina Kitchen: Reviews & Ratings
I love the food and the drinks. There are so many detailed signature plates. I loved the fillet tacos and coconut margaritas. Will definitely come back with family.
Food is yummy, but pricey and took a while. The atmosphere is great as it’s not too crowded. 4 stars just because it’s kind of crazy to me to charge over $20 for a burrito.
Our server Fernando was outstanding! Great energy, lots of smiles and was very accommodating of our specific dietary requests. Free chips and salsa were delicious! I ordered the Asada bowl and felt it was okay; a little bland in my opinion. My parents ordered off the brunch menu and enjoyed their meals; chilaquiles and the hangover burrito plus a side halibut taco (that was $13) but apparently fantastic! I always appreciate when an establishment serves non-alcoholic beer, in this case Heineken 0.0. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday morning and the place was fairly empty, by noon it was completely full. Seems to be a very popular spot for parties of all sizes.
This place is very popular and the upscale Mexican cuisine is delicious , and plated beautifully. In the weekend when we go this place is humming with everyone from church goers to families on the way and coming from the beach. The bar has an excellent selection of tequilas from affordable to the best brands. There is a special tequila menu for over 30 selections. Very impressive. Their dishes or bright and flavorful. My favorite is the taco player with 4 different types of filling from blackened halibut, to pastor. Having the tacos and a clean, crisp, cold beer is just heaven. My son love the Mexican infused burger. It is big, moist, and delicious. And my wife loves the braised, shredded, beef.
I went here recently for a Cars & Coffee event with my cousins Car club which was a Huge Party! Friendly Staff and crew. I mean EVERYONE was Friendly, Accommodating, Helpful , Patient and Knowledgeable. 10 out of 10- DEFINITELY recommended!!! Oh And The Food was Great too! Authentic Chips and warm Red salsa - SO good!. Beautiful Esthetic Ambiance. Seating outside as well as inside. Great drinks!
Was really looking forward to this place, as I love Mexican food. I will say ambiance is pretty great and spacious. Bar is beautiful. Loved the atmosphere and low light features. Music was good that played and not overly loud. Drinks weren't my favorite, but my cousin loved her margarita. Chips and salsa were overly salted. Enchiladas and fajitas were ordered and I enjoyed it other than the steak being kinda fatty and lacking flavor overall. I expected more flavor in the enchiladas sauce, and it was barely warm. Rice tasted bland and simple, same with the beans. Service was ok, nothing to stand out or make it amazing. Server was just average, and kinda seemed checked out or was having an off night.
The food was decent, and the plating was rather nice for a sit-down CaliMex restaurant. The restaurant is beautiful and huge inside, with a pretty, but rather small bar and some TVs scattered about. Everything seemed very salty. My table mates and I thought it was the chips initially (we scraped the salt flakes off), but we all garnered that there was too much salt also in the warm salsa. All of the salt seemed to destroy any of the entrees and other offerings. In short, everything was overly salty, perhaps a marketing ploy to encourage buying more drinks. Upon our departure, I immediately drank most of my bottled water back at the car. Whew!!! Service was initially slow until our server, Luis, took hold and provided an excellent experience with professional and swift service, even providing a plate of warm (hot) towels upon our departure. An unnecessary but nice touch I have not yet seen from a Mexican restaurant. Dicks is still searching for that ‘one of a kind’ Mexican experience. Not this! Dicks
Absolutely delicious! First time here and we were so impressed. Great menu. A lot of great choices. The chips and salsa are fire. The coconut margarita was great. We had cheese enchiladas and the crispy carnitas. The meat was out of this world. The beans and rice was also fantastic! We will definitely be back soon!
